Right to Read Week: Every March, staff and students in preschool through grade eight prepare for Right to Read Week, sponsored by Hudson PTO. This week-long literacy celebration focuses on the joy of reading and writing, culminating with an author visit where students learn how an author brings their stories to life and creates a published book. This year, McDowell and Ellsworth Hill will host children’s author Marcy Campbell. To order books signed by the author, visit Hudson PTO Store. Sales close February 14. Books will be delivered to students after Marcy’s presentation at the school. Right to Read Week will take place Monday, March 17 - Friday, March 21. UPDATE: Right to Read Week has a bonus author this year! Drew Daywalt, another (formerly) local award-winning children's author will be visiting our schools to talk about his career as a writer and share his newest book. You may also order books signed by Drew at the Hudson PTO Store.

HHS Presents Chaos in Fairytale Forest: HHS Drama Club will be performing their annual children's show in just a few weeks - February 21 and 22!!! This year's 100% HHS student produced show is called Chaos in Fairy Tale Forest. Performances are Friday, 2/21, and Saturday, 2/22, at 5:00pm in the HHS Auditorium. The show is approximately 45 minutes. Admission is free, donations are accepted and there will be free cookies!!!
What happens when all the classic fairy tales come together in a single story? One word: CHAOS! As Little Red Riding Hood makes her way to Granny’s house, she stumbles into characters from other classic fairy tales -- who are all missing objects that are needed for their story. Havoc ensues as all the characters try to set everything right once again before the Sheriff (who's an Ogre) sends them on their way.
